Sanctuary RP Prompt


The world was strange, in the beginning. Magic had etched itself deep, and into the surrounding nature. With large beasts and sweet surroundings, technology was unneeded as these people worked with their surroundings in perfect harmony. This race of beings was referred to only by the term "Guardians" as that was what they were, Guardians of nature and protecters of the natural order. They would speak with the trees and have tea with owls, the magic they alone could command would reveal itself as inky markings dancing across the Guardians skin, to show to the world who they are at heart - alongside their own protective beasts called Kiriths.

The Guardians were rumored to be the only ones who could find Sanctuary, a place some may even call Eden - with strange animals, bountiful fruit, and sweet water. This world was well hidden, even thought to belong to another dimension entirely as no other humans could find it. As humanity evolved and developed well into the modern age, Guardians were no longer seen as people with gifts - rather than experiments to study and tools to use to find Sanctuary.

However, soon humanity would see one true downfall to the Guardians. Modern technology, with it's lack of natural energy and magic, became lethal if a Guardian was left alone. Leaving one in a city for longer than two weeks, it might as well be an execution. Governments and scientists used this against them, and - by the turn of the 21st century - no more Guardians were left. Thus, Sanctuary was lost...up until today.


Scenarios:

1. Your character is a freelance explorer, tracking treasures around the globe - all for the sake of fame. Recently, after flying out to a small country town for a interview, you hear of a very interesting rumor - a Guardian is in town. This could be your one chance to be the first human to find Sanctuary in  a century.

2. Your character is a scientist, dedicated to finding the truth behind the rumored Sanctuary seeing as - unlike how some of the world believed - you and your peers think it is nothing more than a legend. Nevertheless, it's been interesting how the government willingly funds the entire operation. Until the unbelievable happens - a legitimate Guardian is brought in. If the rumors are to be trusted, then them being here in a science facility might not be a good thing...

3. Your character is a sheriff/the chief of police in a small country town. Recently, some government agents - or so they say - have made camp in the town to "catch a dangerous criminal". You aren't too sure of this, and your faith in them certainly wavers when you find someone essentially hiding out in your backyard...and those black markings don't look too good.

4. Your character simply lives out in the open country(or on a farm, whichever you choose). Things are pretty peaceful. However, one stormy night you hear someone pounding on the front door. Nobody would be caught dead in this weather, so it remains a mystery who it is.






Notes about this RP/Lore for this RP:

A. Romance is possible, and it can be any type. Same with characters, everyone is welcome. :3

B. Guardians - while they have ties with nature - are by no means unable to be killed or hurt. Their magic is mostly limited to: Speaking to animals and plants, animals not wanting to attack them, being able to travel using the stars and sky alone, able to stay underwater for a vast amounts of time, and being immune to poison/animal venom/things amongst those nature. They can use other magic, but only with incantations and such. It would take time. Potentially a lethal amount of time.

C. Your character can become a Guardian, but only if you want them to and later on in the RP.

D. Please have detailed responses. Please? I'll always try to give you something to go off of, so please do the same for me.

E. If you want, your character can have family. Only if you want though.
